The Charlie Christian Jazz Guitar Institute
The Charlie Christian Jazz Guitar Institute celebrates the groundbreaking legacy of one of jazz guitar’s true pioneers, offering students an immersive and forward-looking experience in improvisation, ensemble playing, and jazz guitar artistry.
Led by an all-star faculty, the institute features:
Mark Whitfield, Grammy Award-winning guitarist and one of the most respected voices in modern jazz, whose dynamic playing and mentorship continue to shape the future of the genre.
Bill Swick, legendary educator and arranger, who directs the Charlie Christian Guitar Ensemble and has specially arranged many of Christian’s classic works for performance during the convention.
Chip Henderson, acclaimed jazz guitarist, composer, and educator, known for his innovative approach to jazz harmony and deep passion for student development.
