About the Leyenda Convention
The Leyenda Convention is a unique, multi-day celebration of the guitar that brings together students, educators, and world-class artists across classical, jazz, and fingerstyle traditions. Hosted at Oklahoma City University and presented by the Leyenda Foundation, the convention offers a dynamic fusion of performance, education, collaboration, and professional development.
At its core are three specialized institutes:
The Celedonio Romero Guitar Institute, focused on classical performance and orchestral collaboration.
The Charlie Christian Guitar Institute, centered on jazz guitar, improvisation, and ensemble playing.
The John Knowles Fingerstyle Institute, dedicated to expressive solo and ensemble fingerstyle traditions.
