Come Together Professional Development

The Leyenda Foundation invites educators, performers, and community leaders to join us for Come Together—a four-day professional development institute designed to empower music teachers and teaching artists with new tools, resources, and collaborations.
This immersive program will feature:

Workshops led by master teachers and guest artists across classical, jazz, and fingerstyle traditions.

Curriculum sessions focused on classroom strategies, equity in music education, and innovative repertoire.

Roundtable discussions fostering collaboration between pre-college and collegiate educators.

Performances and demonstrations highlighting artist-educators at the heart of Leyenda’s mission.
Participants will leave with fresh strategies, new partnerships, and a renewed sense of purpose in their teaching. Whether you are a public school teacher, private studio instructor, or collegiate educator, Come Together 2026 offers meaningful, practical, and inspiring professional development in the heart of the Leyenda Convention.
At the 2025 Leyenda Foundation Convention, Dr. Robert Phillips led the festival guitar orchestra in a spirited performance of John Powell’s Three Dances for Four Guitars (Dances No. 1–3). With its rhythmic vitality and colorful textures, Powell’s work showcased the ensemble’s energy and cohesion, while Phillips’ direction brought clarity and drive to the performance. This special concert highlighted the collaborative spirit of the Leyenda Convention — where musicians of all backgrounds come together to celebrate the guitar’s expressive range and communal power.
